Lion Tom Keels (deceased )was District 31E Governor 1983-1984 prior to joining the Mooresville Lions Club. Lion Steve Sheline was Distict 31C Governor 1998-1999 prior to joining the Mooresville Lions Club.

PDG Tom Keels has two Jack Stickley Awards. One for meeting District White Cane goals when he was district Chairman and one for achieving the goal when he was Governor.
Lion Joyce Keels was given a Jack Stickley Award for achieving White Cane goals while District Governor.
LIon Joyce Keels was given Jack Stickley Fellowship Progressive by our club.

Membership is by invitation only. Lion Members can invite any man or woman of legal majority, of good moral character, a good reputation in the community and interested in giving something back to the community. Interested people can contact a local Lions Club and learn more about Lionism. A member should then invite and sponsor a qualified candidate.
2008 Calendar Year Activities:
Provided eye exams and purchased eighteen pair of glasses.
Purchased a talking glucometer for local visually impaired person.
Held a cookout for the local VIP's at Camp Dogwood in May.
Purchased one box of Girls Scout cookies per member for armed forces in the Middle East.
Help support a Visually Impaired Support Group who meet monthy with financial support and driving VIP's to the meetings.
Provided refreshments for the Blood Mobile.
Screened over sixty students at two elementry schools in September with the North Carolina Vision Van.
Help pay for bus transportation to the Outer Banks for the annual VIP fishing tournament in October.
Provided two scholarships for graduation high school seniors; one for a blind student.
Our annual Christmas party for the visually impaired with dinner, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus was December 8, 2008. They received a fruit basket and a check from the club. The Central United Methodist Church choir performed. Dinner was catered by the Helen Keller Branch of the Mooresville Lions Club. Twenty four VIP's attended. In all, about eighty five members and guests attended.

We no longer are having the Fiddler's Convention.

This date has been changed due to a conflict in scheduling!
Mooresville Lions Club Golf Tournament @ Mooresville Golf Course. Proceeds to aid visually impaired persons and other LIons activities.

Participate in Race City Days .
Other ongoing Projects or services:
Provide free transportation to eye doctors for patients with no other means of transportation. Most are 70 mile round trips to Charlotte, NC. We also provide transportation and financial support for a VIP Support group that meets the 2nd Thursday of each month in Statesville NC..
Collect used eye glasses, hearing aids and ink cartridges.
