Lion Tom Keels was District 31E Governor 1983-1984 prior to joining the Mooresville Lions Club. Lion Steve Sheline was Distict 31C Governor 1998-1999 prior to joining the Mooresville Lions Club.

PDG Tom Keels has two Jack Stickley Awards. One for meeting District White Cane goals when he was district Chairman and one for achieving the goal when he was Governor.
Lion Joyce Keels was given a Jack Stickley Award for achieving White Cane goals while District Governor.

Membership is by invitation only. Lion Members can invite any man or woman of legal majority, of good moral character, a good reputation in the community and interested in giving something back to the community. Interested people can contact a local Lions Club and learn more about Lionism. A member should then invite and sponsor a qualified candidate.

Our Annual Fiddler's Convention is the last Saturday in March at the Mooresville High School Auditorim.
Miss Caroline Caldwell received the $1000 annual scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Mooresville High School.
Septembr 11th, and 12th, 2008, The North Carolina Lions Foundation Vision Van will be at two schools in Moooresville.
Our annual Christmas party for the visually impaired with dinner, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus was December 10, 2007. They received a fruit basket and a check from the club. The Central United Methodist Church choir performed. Dinner was catered by the Helen Keller Branch of the Mooresville Lions Club.

Santa with a VIP
Provide free transportation to eye doctors for patients with no other means of transportation. Most are 70 mile round trips to Charlotte, NC. We also provide transportation and financial support for a VIP Support group that meets the 2nd Thursday of each month in Statesville NC.
Help fund transportation cost for participants to the annual VIP(Visually Impared Persons) fishing tournament on the Outer Banks.
A cookout for our VIP's is the fourth Monday in May at Camp Dogwood.
Donated to Southeastern Guide Dog.Sponsor campers to Camp Dogwood every year.
Provide refreshments at the Red Cross Blood Drives.
Collect used eye glasses, hearing aids and printer cartridges.
Paid for a Learning for Life program in the elementary school for 2006.It's Mission Statement is of Learning for Life to serve others by helping to instill core values in young people and in other ways prepare them to make ethical choices throughout their lives so they can achieve their full potential.
We contributed to Samaritans International. This is a group of volunteers including professional medical personell who pay their own way to help feed and give medical attention to children in under-developed nations around the world.
